Well, for anyone actually paying attention, you may have noticed that the daily random videos have been a little less daily than their name would imply. It's actually really hard to find a new video every day (at least enjoyable ones). It also meant nearly every article had a video in it, which was annoying. We here at confusinglygood have found a happy median though: Weekly Random Videos! We'll try to get them up by Friday afternoon each week so that you have something to start the weekend off right with. Unfortunately, I decided this tonight, which is a Saturday. But at least you're getting something!
So, without further ado, you can find this weeks video after the break, which just might be somehow related to the image to the right. Maybe.

Tuesday's DVD Releases

#Movie Trailers, #The Science of Sleep, #Flags of our Fathers, #Hollywoodland, # DVD Releases

 DVD Covers

This week has a lot of movies hitting DVD that I'm pretty excited about, so I thought I'd share.

Hollywoodland
Starring Adrien Brody (The Pianist), Diane Lane (A Walk on the Moon), Ben Affleck (Daredevil, heh), and Bob Hoskins (Super Mario Bros, double heh), this is the film-noir look at the true story of the supposed suicide of George Reeves (star of TV's Adventures of Superman). But rumors of a homicide are being spread around, with anyone's guess as to who killed the Man of Steel.

Flags of our Fathers
From Director/Producer Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby) and co-producer Steven Spielberg (Schindler's List) comes the story of the battle of Iwo Jima, the turning point of World War II.

The Science of Sleep
Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) returns to the director's chair to bring us yet another surreal and dream-like experience.

I've been looking forward to Sleep since last fall. I REALLY enjoyed Eternal Sunshine, and if you haven't seen it yet, you owe it to yourself. It's an amazing work of art, and Jim Carrey really stretches our expectations (before falling right back into typical comedy with Fun With Dick and Jane).

Maybe this weekend I can actually watch these and get some reviews going or something.

After the break, check out the trailers!

I Hope You Can See This Cause I'm Doing It As Hard As I Can

Apparently, yesterday there was a series of suspicious looking objects in Boston, which people thought were bombs. Turns out they were actually LED boards of the Moonanites from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, in an elaborate gorilla marketing campaign. You heard me right: People actually mistook marketing for explosive devices.

Of course, they were placed under bridges, subways and other public places, and they were lit up, so I can see how your average person would mistake it for a bomb, just like they must mistake their television or microwave for one on a daily basis. "Aha! Made in Taiwan you say? Well the authorities will be hearing of this!" A day and several scary news stories later, people are now mad at the company that did the marketing campaign, interference inc, and are demanding that they and Cartoon Network, along with their parent company, Turner Broadcasting, be held accountable, which may include a fine of $500,000, which is what was spent to avert this disaster.

Attorney General Martha Coakley says the scare was not necessarily unfounded. "For those who responded to it, professionals, it had a very sinister appearance," Coakley said. "It had a battery behind it and wires."

Later that day, several RC Cars were taken from small children to be destroyed. The children are awaiting trial for their crimes against the government.

Check after the break for a video of the hanging of the Mooninites.

I have to go to sleep, but I needed to get a video up. Here's and old one, but I still find it sorta funny. A little NSFW.

Strongbad to Induce Motion Sickness on the Wii

#Strongbad, #Homestarrunner, #Wiimote, #Wii, #Video Games, #Videlectrix

I'll admit it: I've lost touch with my old friend Strongbad. I don't watch the antics of him and his friends anymore. I don't read his emails... or, watch him read his own email, anymore. What used to be part of my daily routine is now done maybe ever six months. But I remember the times we had, most of them good, a lot of them trying to bounce a tire off of my mouse as many consecutive times as possible. Well, Videlectrix (The people that make games... with computers) has just released branch off called "Viidelectrix", wherein they have decided to touch up the old games to work with the Wiimote. Seems pretty cool to me. Anyone else going to rekindle a love affair with the masked luchador (or whatever he is)?

The Pope, A Nun and a Lego Sculpture of Homer Walk Into a Bar...

#Homer Simpson, #The Simpsons, #Legos

I found this whilst browsing the interwebs tonight, or this morning, or whatever this is. Sleep purgatory or something.
Anyway, this 4 foot tall model of Homer Simpson is made of about 10,000 Lego pieces and took the creator about 2 weeks to build. It can hold a real can of Duff Beer (or Buzz Cola), and has graced the front page of Wired Magazine (for two weeks no less!) and was mentioned in the Washington Post. It's pretty decent looking, although at its size it sometimes looks a little funny next to a real person.

Friday's Random Video: Ask A Ninja (Omnibus)

#Ask A Ninja, #YouTube, #Daily Random Video

Today's daily random video is from the 'ask a ninja' series. It's like when Strongbad emails were funny and we all watched those every week... except he's a ninja and not... whatever the hell Strongbad was supposed to be.
The editing and writing in the series is very top-notch though, and definitely worth checking out the rest. I'm not sure if this is the funniest episode though, so if anyone knows of better ones let me know in the comments.
