Do Music Genres Exist?
I've had a few people now tell me that indie rock doesn't exist. And that alternative rock doesn't exist. And that music genres don't exist, and that you can't label art. This is bullshit.
Lesson N-Squared: Web Comics
Everyone knows what a comic is: from Batman and Superman paperbacks to a strip about Garfield and lasagna, everyone's read at least one. What some may not know about (usually non-nerds), is that the internet is a booming medium for comics and has been for some time. Check after the break for the low-down on the nets most popular comics and why you should be reading them.
Daria: A Retrospective
Alright, not so much a retrospective in the sense that I'll have videos and anecdotal little tidbits to throw your way about the animated MTV show "Daria", but retrospective since I've been, for the past week or so, watching Daria nonstop and it's been fun to look back on the cartoon. I won't clutter up the main page though, so click through the break if you wanna read more about everyone's favorite teen outcast.
Wild Hogs: A Short Review
#Wild Hogs, #Movie Review, #Reviews, #Opinions, #Lame, #Unfunny, #Tim Allen, #William H. Macy, #John Travolta, #Martin Lawrence
Wild Hogs is, for some reason, the comedy hit of the summer - well, a third place hit, but top ten none-the-less. But I can tell you from first hand experience in a video store that it's a HIGHLY anticipated movie - I've had people asking for a release date for months now, and have heard many customers say they won't be renting Wild Hogs come this Tuesday - they'll be buying. And I simply couldn't get why until tonight when I sat down to watch it.

Samarai 7 On the Cheap
Amazon is having a sale on anime, superheroes, and comic stuff on dvd. The most notable title is Samarai 7
for $44. Hit the source to see the rest of the sale, including some Bleach and Naruto, but it's not really that stellar in my opin.
The Maxx On DVD... Sort Of
For those of you that don't know about the 90's comic by Sam Kieth entitled The Maxx, I suggest you check out the Wikipedia article, followed by watching some of the animated MTV series. I recently came into some Maxx DVD's (and I'm not sure how much more I want to say, but, thanks to encoder smclean2000). So, feeling all creative, I decided to try my hand at a DVD cover for said DVD's. You can check out the preview below, and then tell me what's wrong (or maybe right) with it, and then even download it yourself.
Credits go out to smclean2000 for a great dvd set, angryblue.com for the blood splatter brushes, and chockingonstatic for the circle brush, and of course Sam Kieth
.Tonight I'm Going to Party Like It's On Sale For $19.99!
Remember when The Simpsons did that awesome house giveaway? Well this is even better.

X-2 Steelbook DVD $6.99 @ K-Mart
In what is most definitely a mis-price, K-Mart has the new X-2 Steelbook DVD in their ad for a mere $6.99. While K-Mart probably won't actually have this edition of the movie, Circuit City and Best Buy most likely WILL, and both Price Match competitors; Circuit City even goes above and beyond with 110%. So, head over to K-Mart, grab the ad, and then stop on by CC or BB and pick up this $20 movie for $7... hopefully. :D

Cartoon Network CEO Resigns; ATHF On Case
#Cartoon Network, #ATHF, #Bombs, #Bomb Scare, #Boston, #Post 9/11 America, #Real News, #Guerrilla Marketing
In the wake of a Boston bomb scare which turned out to be nothing more than Guerrilla Marketing, it seems that the CEO of Cartoon Network has officially stepped down, and CN parent company Turner has payed over 2 million dollars in restitution to the city of Boston. Probably not what CN envisioned when they launched the ad campaign, but then again, who could have foreseen this? Was CN wronged? Is this just kneejerk reactions to a post-9/11 America? Or did you also think the little Moon Man flipping you off was about to esplode? Vent in the comments!
