The List 3/4 - 3/10

#The List, #Circuit City, #Best Buy, #Target, #DVD, #Sale, #Circular Ads

Okay so I'm on hiatus, but I thought I'd post this real quick cause there are some good deals this week (mostly on cheapo DVD's, but still). so a short break from the short break.

Also, I may just quit writing these up all together. Speedy (at cheapassgamer) does this each week, and should not only get all the credit, but simply does a good job. My intent was to pick out what I thought were the must haves of the lists, but maybe that's not necessary? I may just have weekly links to Speedy's lists. Let me know if any of you like my write-ups, or if they are just a nuisance. Otherwise, click through to get to rest of the article (and leave some comments!)

Anime On the Cheap At RightStuf.com

#Rightstuf.com, #Anime, #DVD, #Sale, #Evangelion

Rightstuf.com, the international anime superstore, is having a pretty sweet deal on ADV anime right now. The sale is any 10 for $50 or 25 for $100. Most anime collectors know that a single disc of anime can easily run $25, so to get 10 discs for $50 is a pretty good deal. The only title I found of note was Evangelion Platinum; each disc would normally be about $27 (at rightstuf, anyway), but with this you can grab most of theml and then a few different titles for $50. Bestbuy i believe has Evangelion for $6.99 a disc, but even at that rate you pay more than $50 for the series. Click the source to find the complete list, and maybe post some comments about titles you think are worth picking up.

Amazon DotD: Splinter Cell Double Agent (Wii) [dead]

#Amazon.com, #Wii, #Video Games, #Sale, #DotD, #Deal of the Day

Amazon.com has been having pretty decent "Deal of the Day" sales on video games lately, and today's deal is for a game IGN rated 5.5, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent for the Wii. Yeah, so it might not be the best game in the world, but $26.99 is nothing to sneeze at for a next-gen game. Well, 1/2 next-gen... whatever. Click through the source to take advantage before this deal ends... which ill probably be right after this is posted. Well have coverage of DotD's each day from now on though, promise.

[DEAD] Best DVD Deal of 2007?

#Best Buy, #B1G1, #BOGO, #Oscars, #Sale, #DVD

Best Buy is having an UNADVERTISED sale this week (hopefully all week) in celebration of the Oscars! We found out Sunday night, at which point it was too late to post (if it turned out to be a one day event), but it seems that it is an event for the week, so get ready to get your MIND BLOWN. Okay so it's not that incredible but it is definitely note worthy.

It seems last weeks special edition dvd's, which were previously buy one get one free, are now $9.99... but still buy 1 get 1. That means an average of $5 a movie, most of which pull $20 easy. Click the permalink to read the full list.

[UPDATE 1]: Forgot to mention that you can snag a 300 promo disc w/movie cash for FREE with any DVD purchase. Many have reported being able to get one for one with the dvd's in the B1G1F. It's in the ad and can be seen here.

[UPDATE 2]: Looks like the B1G1 deal is dead as of Wednsday; hope everyone was able to get in on this.

For You Bargain Hunters...

#Bargains, #Video Games, #Sale, #Cheap, #Cheapassgamer, #Destructiod, #Bargain Bin Laden, #DVDTalk, #Fatwallet

When this site was originally conceived, it was a personal blog. But after conception, there was some minor surgery and what we have now was born: a site which tries to collect as many interesting and helpful things as it can for people to read about. One of the topics that I post about most is bargains on movies and game; I simply think I know bargains, and am amazed when I see people spend too much money (and not care, no less). I know a girl that saw Ice Age 2 for $16.99 and said it was a "good deal". I'm sorry, but that's a terrible deal.
So I thought now might be a good time to let you all in on the secret: I read a lot of forums and blogs. I know not everyone has the time for this, nor the want, so that's where I try to pick up the slack and collect all I can. But a lot of stuff falls through the cracks, or is simply too-short-lived to be posted, because by the time anyone read it, the deal would be dead. My recent post about a Babel BD comes to mind; I believe it was most likely dead when I wrote the article, but the disc was still $0 and still available for purchase. I guess I'll see later this week if it comes.
But for those of you with as much time as me, you might be interested in knowing where to find these deals. Click through the break to read alll about 'em.

The List: 02/25-03/03

#The List, #Circular Ads, #Circuit City, #Target, #Best Buy, #Sale, #DVD

Okay back at it! Sorry again for delays; Sunday really sneaks up on you when you've got a job to be at on the weekend.

As some may have noticed, I've added some Amazon referrals. To the right is a short, random list of games and movies due out this week (with a link for the complete list as well). Although these may not be the best prices you can get, Amazon is typically pretty balanced, and by buying through the links here you help support this site, which is coded and designed by one person, d3vkit, with articles by only two other people, knit_vicious and w00t. Okay, enough of the plug, let's get cracking!

Games
Not much for games for any of the stores this week; click here for Speedy's full list. Only thing I noticed was that the Wii IS in Circuit City's add, as well as 25% off select games.

Movies
Best Buy
Toshiba HD-DVD DVD Player - Model HD-A2 - $499.99
PLUS 4 Free HD-DVD Movies when purchase with player on same receipt!

$9.99 DVD's
Million Dollar Baby: 3 Disc Edition
The Shawshank Redemption: 2 DVD Special Edition
Mystic River: 3 Disc Deluxe Edition
The Phantom Of The Opera: 2 DVD Special Edition
HEAT: 2 DVD Special Edition
The Lost Boys: 2 DVD Special Edition
Constantine: 2 DVD Special Edition
True Romance: 2 DVD Special Edition
V For Vendetta: 2 DVD Special Edition

Circuit City
2 for $10 DVD's
A lot listed, but only few interest me. I think most of these titles can be had at $5 any day of the week, so no need to go crazy.

Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery
Matchstick Men
About Schmidt

Target
$7.50 DVD's
Robots (Not bad!)
Ultimate Avengers: The Movie (was $5 last week, but $2.50 more isn't too bad).

Well, not a lot this week, which is good, 'cause I have no money for random movies. Until next time fellow deal-seekers. Leave some comments on what I missed that's good or included that's bad.

Babel BD For (Almost) Free!

#Babel, #Sale, #BD, #Blu-Ray, #Almost Free

Gameznflix.com has Babel (Blu-Ray) listed as $0. There's still shipping, which is extraordinarily high at $4.50, but with a list price of $0, I think that's something we can all agree can be looked past. Sort of a forest for the trees thing, I think.
Anyway, check out the "source" below to try to snag a copy before this mistake is fixed. And let us know in the comments how things go for you; I've yet to receive email confirmation of my order, although I did receive a confirmation number. Paper copies FTW!

Edit: I totally didn't see that it was BD. Oh well, now I have an HD-DVD movie (Serenity, $7.50 FTW), and a BD movie. Better get a combo player sometime in the future! Still an EXCELLENT deal, especially for a BD disc.

Edit number TWO: Apparently, Gameznflix has some spotty policies. I received no email confirmation, and neither did others, nor a shipping statement when it shipped: it just came. They also charge you IMMEDIATELY, and apparently if there is a problem, it's tough to get them to refund. Hopefully they didn't just leave the movie up even though stock ran out... but if they already made a price mistake...
